The Ministry of Education, Government of India, released the New Education Policy (NEP) earlier this year. NEP has vast, sweeping reforms proposed in the K-12 and Higher Education sector in India. In Higher Education, the Ministry has recognized that students may enter and exit the higher education institution several times as opposed to the current single entry/exit system. The policy proposed up to four exit credentials a student may collect from different institutions during their course of study.
This is indeed a progressive step and recognizes the current needs of students. How can institutions prepare for the new Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) system while still supporting their current students?

ABC is similar in concept to the Stackable Credentials idea where different credentials from different issuers may be combined to lead to an altogether new credential. The underpinning for a successful ABC system is to have the digitized student record and the ability to map student achievement with a recognized level. Once a suitable mapping is devised, credits from different issuers can be combined together.
Our belief is the ABC is the right step forward to enable student mobility and ensure students can reach their highest potential.
